    Development & Growth Management Construction Services Division New City of Tampa Flood Ordinance Effective March 15, 2021 On March 15, 2021 the new City of Tampa Flood Mitigation Ordinance will go into effect for all properties that are located in a SFHA (Special Flood Hazard Area). To help assist the construction and development community during this transition, Construction Services will provide a process for projects nearing submittal to remain vested under the current City of Tampa Flood Mitigation Ordinance. VESTING CRITERIA • All required construction plans and documents must be SUBMITTED and permit application must be ACCEPTED prior to 11:59 PM, March 14, 2021. The Application Review must be marked as “Accepted” and . Find your status – Quick Guide. Our staff understands that this will be a modification period and will work with all projects during this transition to continue to provide a safe built environment. Vested projects must still comply with the new FEMA maps released on January 21, 2021.
