I have worked for Color Wheel Paint for 25 years. I began my career in Orlando as counter salesperson and joined the outside sales force in 1993. That is when I learned the importance and the numerous benefits of being a member of the Builders’ Association. In 1995 I relocated to Tampa as sales representative. One of the first things I did was to join the TBBA (formerly known as BAGT). I knew it was the best way to introduce myself in this new market. Networking is a critical part of sales, and the TBBA offers the opportunity to make new contacts. There are many events and meetings throughout the year, which allows me to network with my industry peers in a relaxed atmosphere. Another advantage of being a member of the TBBA is the opportunity to market the products and services I have to offer to other members. Advertising is an invaluable tool and the TBBA has many resources to do this. I also feel it is important to support our industry and the various issues we face. Members are given the opportunity to serve on committees to help accomplish this and the TBBA works diligently with government agencies on our behalf. I have been very active with the TBBA over the years and have gained much in return. Not only has my membership helped to increase and maintain my sales goals, but also I have made lasting friendships along the way.Bill Croce, Color Wheel Paint
The Tampa Bay Builders Association has provided me with many benefits over my short 10 years as a member. Not only are you a member of TBBA, but also a member of the Florida Home Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders. Through NAHB I have gained national certifications through the education programs they offer. Also at the national level there are many benefits such as discounts on products, services and NHAB is a great resource for information on anything in the construction industry from governmental affairs to marketing and they can even answer questions on legal issues you may have. Locally we have brought in many educational programs, CEU classes and the EPA Lead certification class that is imperative for a Remodeling company that works on pre 1978 homes. We also have very strong Governmental Affairs committees that work on your behalf to keep the building industry’s best interests in hand. In my mind the real backbone of the association is the Sales and Marketing committee. They are committed to making all the TBBA events fun and of course profitable and it is always about the Benjamin’s! TBBA is about networking and developing business and personal relationships but the only way you can do this is get involved, I wish I would of joined when I started my business over 28yrs ago!Jonathan Greaves, CAPS, CGP, CGR - President Greaves Construction Inc. - CBC037937
