PAC

The purpose of TBBA’s Political Action Committees (PACs) is to work within the local and state election processes to further the goals of Tampa Bay Builders Association by supporting candidates for elected office who support our issues and the construction industry.

TBBA has two Committees of Continuing Existence (CCE):

  • Business United for Good Government (CCE)
  • Bay Area Construction PAC (CCE)

Contributions to the TBBA committees are for political purposes. All contributions to TBBA PACs are voluntary. You may refuse to contribute without reprisal. The proposed contribution amounts to TBBA PACs are suggestions; you may choose to contribute more or less, or not at all. TBBA will not favor or disadvantage anyone by reason of the amount contributed or the decision whether to contribute. Federal law requires political committees to report the name, address, occupation and name of employer for each individual whose contributions exceed $250 in a calendar year.

In addition to contributing to TBBA’s PACs, the Florida Homebuilders Association (FHBA) has multiple political committees, to which a portion of TBBA membership dues is allocated. These PACs contribute to Florida House, Senate and gubernatorial campaigns as well as ballot issues that may arise. The National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) has BUILDPAC, which is organized and regulated under federal law, for the purpose of engaging in elections for members of Congress and the President of the United States. Corporate donations are PROHIBITED to BUILDPAC.

All contributions to any of these committees are not tax deductible for federal income tax purposes.

All TBBA and FHBA committees are organized and regulated under state law. Both personal and corporate donations are permissible. Certain limitations apply.
