    Job Description
    Reports to:
    Construction Director
    Working under the supervision of the Vice President of Construction coordinate and manage residential construction projects from permit issuance to set up of trusses. Serve as the back up site foreman for the construction and supervision of single family homes.
    Essential Functions:

    • Oversee the development of the site for building to include but not limited to:
    • Obtain bids for Approved tree work on each parcel.
    • Obtain bids for Scrape and silt fence on the parcels.
    • Set permit box with signs and documentation
    • Set Temp Power Pole
    • Coordinate with office for power connection from TECO.
    • Locate water and sewer for the parcel.
    • Coordinate installation of water meter or wastewater tap as needed on parcels.
    • Coordinate the temp water supply line for construction.
    • Tree removal and Stump grinding or removal. Root prune and rake activities as needed.
    • Scrape lot and install silt fence and tree barricades.
      • Ensure safety, efficiency, quality and professionalism on construction site.
      • Manage and coordinate subcontractors on construction site.
      • Promote the mission and values of organization to all volunteers and homeowner candidates. 
      • Work with the Vice President of Construction to organize and schedule construction activities.
      • Assist in the proper control, maintenance, storage, and security of all materials, tools, and equipment.
      • Participate in required meeting, events, and professional development training.
      • Perform construction tasks when insufficient numbers of volunteers are present.
      • As needed, serve as site foreman for range of construction activities including supervision of volunteers and homeowner candidates.

    Work Environment:
    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in on a construction site.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, tablets, filing cabinets, and fax machines.  In addition, this role will entail the receipt, storage and transport of construction materials and tools in bulk.
    Physical Demands:
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Stand or walk for the majority of the work day, including working on uneven surfaces.  Apply extensive physical mobility including reaching, lifting, holding, pushing and pulling, carrying, bending, climbing stairs and ladders, crawling, keeling, and arm and leg extension.  Ability to give specific oral and written instruction to individuals and groups.  Regularly lift 10 – 35 pounds: Occasionally 75 pounds or more.  See and judge distances and space relationships.  Independently operate motor vehicles.
    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
    This is a full-time non-exempt position.  The typical workweek is Monday  through Friday, with an occasional Saturday 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
    Education, Experience and Attributes:
    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
    • Two or more years of experience in residential construction.
    • Flexibility to work independently or through instructing individual and group volunteers.
    • Previous experience teaching or supervising volunteers or students preferred
    • Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
    • Sufficient knowledge of residential construction to have ability to determine needed materials, schedule, safe work practices and working knowledge of residential building codes.
    • Ability to use hand and power tools as needed to complete residential construction tasks and instruct others on their effective and safe use
    • Ability to read and interpret standard residential construction plans and specifications
    • Basic mathematical aptitude used to calculate building measurements and quantities etc.
    • Certification in first aid and CPR (or ability to be certified within three months of hiring)
    • Ability to use Builder Trend and Cervis computer software (or be trained upon hiring) for basic data entry into tablet or phone devise on construction site
    • Transportation and willingness to work in all portions of Hillsborough County
